I weaved a matariki star out of paper. It seemed easy but it wasn't. If the paper broke you had to start again even if you were half way through. I liked weaving the paper until it was finished to see what it will look like . I found it hard to tuck the paper under lots of the other paper.

Sage, Lola and Charlie - Week 5
I have two dogs that are called Lola and Sage. Sage is a Staffy and Lola is a labrador pit bull cross. Lola is from the SPCA. She was in a box on the side of the road with 12 other puppies. We brought Lola because our other dog Pearl died. Lola had mites .Mites are really really little bugs and they eat the skin off dogs and some times humans . She lost her fur so she was patchy but now she has grown her fur back . Lola's birthday is the 3rd of may. Sage was for sale. We brought Sage to bring Lola out of her shell. Now Lola is a big sister. Sage's birthday is October 24th.

I was at the Dawn Parade, there was roughly 2000 people. The four army trucks went past with two people in each army truck. The army people marched down the road and then they turned and went towards the cenotaph. All of the public marched behind the soldiers and they were wearing their medals. The four gun shots didn't give me a fright because you knew that they were coming.
Henrietta's sister Thea said a karakia, we had to have a silent moment to remember the soldiers that had fought for our country. The flag went up the pole. Three planes went past in a line, they came back around and went in a row, sometimes they had two at the front and one at the back. At the end they said that we will remember them.
I was feeling a bit tired, I couldn't really see Thea talking but there was a big screen. My great grandpa was in the first world war and my other great grandpa was in the second world war.
I thought about my great grandads who died in the war to help our country.

My Swimming Reflection
I learned how to…backstroke properly.
Something I found challenging was…breathing from both sides while doing free style.
At the end of the year I would like to improve on…diving in to the water.
Mrs Miller, Mr Kenny or Mrs Lowe could help me by…
nothing.
The best part about swimming was…working with the life jackets.
